News and Tips
What are the advantages of using Outlook Web Access?
- You can access your mail on the server from any networked computer on or off campus using any modern Web browser (e.g Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera).
- Built-in calendaring is available so you can schedule meeting times and appointments. What you put on your calendar shows up anywhere you use Outlook Web Access.
- When creating e-mail messages, contacts, or distribution lists you can look up addresses from Elmira College students, faculty, and staff by typing their name and then clicking the Check Names button.
- OWA is much more reliable and stable than the old Web Mail system. You will not experience the constant screen refreshes that distract and slow down your work.
- Your mail account can store up 100MB of mail, which is equivalent to about 50,000 text messages! However, large attachments can quickly reduce how much your mail account can store. You should regularly delete messages that you do not need to keep under your storage limit. When your storage goes over quota, then messages cannot be received and sent
